Quiet before the Storm...

So today is my last day off before the first weekend of the crazy sale! I'm kind of hoping that because people got to pick things up and presale before... the first couple of days will not be so bad. However, Chris and I had a fun filled day and I want to share it!

Woke up at 9am (surprising huh?) and sat around the house for a bit and then got ready. Chris picked me up and we headed out to LA to eat at The Griddle. Got ther
e and waited for about 10 minutes for a table. I got the french toast (yum!) and a side of bacon and Chris got a waffle and orange juice. It was TASTY! I wish the place's air condition was working a bit better since it was kind of stuffy in there but other than that... it was a very very yummy breakfast. After that we headed over to Universal City Walk to get some Popcornopolis for Chris. Didn't realize that it's $14 to park and we were only going to be there for about 20 minutes. :-( Walked around, got our popcorn and Chris some coffee at Coffee Bean and then back to the car we went.

Had tickets to see the Mummies of the World Exhibit at the California Science Museum at 2pm so we had to get from Universal to Downtown in 30 minutes. We made it! YAY! The exhibit was kind of creepy and gross but interesting at the same time. I wouldn't go again... but I kind of think it was cool enough for me to tell people to go? It was really crowded or maybe I would have stayed longer and listened to my audio tour a bit more.

After that I had Chris drive me to the Urth Caffe location in Downtown because I wanted to try one of their drinks. Then I saw a girl walking out with bob
a and immediately wanted boba! So I got an ice blended green tea boba. Was actually pretty tasty. This location is so much more bigger and nicer than the one in Beverly Hills. Wish I worked closer or lived close to this one.. there were so many people inside. But everyone had a laptop or looked like they were super "cool" and "important." Weird.

Then this is where the fun starts. We went to Old Town Pasa
dena because I needed to go to T&Co. to get my necklace fixed (chain broke) and to clean another one that was turning black.. bleh! Turns out... both are free for the services... woo~hoo! After I coaxed Chris to take me to Forever 21. My sister bought a bunch of really cute stuff there so I wanted to try my luck out. I found one shirt pictured below....

Then we went to Urban Outfitters where I found a really cute dress! I cannot find an exact picture of the dress, but I did find the style but just not the colors...

Since it was so darn hot and I had already spent money on 2 things... we decided to leave Old Town and head to Target for some necessities. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes. No joke. Usually I am in there FOREVER... but we were tired from being awake so early in the morning and the hotness. After Target we were hungry but could not for the life of us decide where to eat so Chris drove down Huntington Drive and then we found RUBIO'S!!! I love their fish tacos with no white sauce and their picante salsa. YUM! Then that ends our fun day. I went home and took a nap and Chris went home to play some video games. :-)

The air conditioner is on in my house (which is a super rare thing) so I'm very excited and happy at the moment and must savor it!

April Favorites

I have not written in this for so long but I have had an urge to write in a blog for some reason. I read an article a couple of weeks ago about how one person documented what they ate for 365 days and then wrote a book about it. Ever since I got food poisoning in January and threw up for the first time in 20 years, I have written a note in my iphone that lists places that have gotten me sick after eating there. So then I thought, if I take a picture of EVERYTHING that I eat for 365 days, then I may actually be able to help pinpoint my acid reflux/nausea/food poisoning sickness that I have. BUT, I have yet to take pictures of anything that I have eaten. Hopefully I will get off my lazy butt soon and do that so that I can help my stomach out a bit.

Anyway, I have these favorite things that I like and am semi-obsessed with and wanted to share it with the 1 person who reads this blog. haha

I purchased a bunch of stuff lately that I definitely do not need... but here are some things that are my favorites right now:

1. Kiehl's Deluxe Hand & Body Lotion with Aloe Vera & "GARDENIA" - it totally smells like something an old lady would wear but for some strange reason, I LOVE the smell. I find myself smelling myself on my way to work and during just because I think it smells so nice.

2. Slatkin & Co. Flower SCENTPORTABLE in Pineapple Orchid - I have this in my car right now in the passenger visor of my car and I love the smell. It's $5 and is expensive for what it is, but I think it's better than buying a cheap air freshener that makes me feel like barfing. They had a ton of different scents. I will definitely have to try the others.

3. KitchenAid Salad And Fruit Spinner: Got this at Costco for only $10. Online they have it for $30, so I think I got a pretty good deal. I did read some reviews about it, and they're not that good. But at least I did not pay as much as everyone else?seat visor and it smells soooo good. I love pineapple and it's not grossly strong but still strong enough. We will see how long it lasts though because the case that the scent comes in, is actually quite thin so I will have to keep you updated on that. It was $5.00 for one and $5.oo for the refill. I may just continue to buy it just because it smells so gosh darn nice.

I made Lemon Chicken Soup with Egg Noodles tonight because I ate a Costco hotdog with all the fixin's on a hot day and my sister said that THAT is the reason why I got sick. I literally had to RUN to the restroom at Costco or else I probably would have pooped my pants, fainted, and then barfed all over myself. Luckily, none of those things happened. So anyway, I made that soup and added some kale and did a really good job if I say so myself. I used the Costco Rotisserie Chicken that I got today.

Time to pack my lunch for tomorrow... chicken soup!

Long Time No Blog...

I have not blogged in so long!!! I really miss blogging about my purchases for the day and what I have done. I think that I will try to start this up again even if no one really reads it. It's okay, at least when I look back, I can see what I did and bought. Let's start with the weekend shall we?

Saturday: I worked the closing shift. Everyone was going out to a party or something at work and that's what everyone seemed to be talking about. Me? My plan was to go back home, watch the rest of my Hannah Montana DVD that I got from Netflix (what? I want to know what the hype is about)... and eat some leftover Chinese comfort food from the night before. I kind of wanted to go out last night and be wild and crazy... stay out until 3 in the morning and get dressed up like a hoochie mama. That's what I felt like I SHOULD be doing... BUT... I am a bit lazy and like to stay home. I like staying home on Friday & Saturday nights even though I KNOW I should be going out like everyone else. Ok, I take that back... I DO want to go out sometimes, just not all the times. I really had no parties to go to last night so I guess I really didn't miss out on much right?

Sunday: Woke up early to go to Noelle's Birthday Party at The Gym. Ok, let me start by saying... if you didn't have a child at this thing, there was nothing for you to do but eat and drink coffee. It was my job to get the bagels at Noah's and coffee at Peet's. I felt like such a good person waking up early (for me) and running some errands. After the party, I went to Centinela Feed to get Winky some cat litter. They were having a promotion today and I got 20% off and a free catnip toy for Winky. Let me say that with Winky being 19, I didn't think she still cared about catnip let alone... is able to even smell it... I mean, she IS completely deaf... BUT she LOVED IT! She played with that little catnip toy for a good 20 minutes before she got tired and rested.

After I drove across the street to Target. I saw the Mexican Guy sitting on the sidewalk with his cart of fruit and made a mental note to park close enough to him so that on my way out from Target, I could casually stop by the cart and get me some Fruit with Chili & Lime. Went to Target and bought Simply Grapefruit Juice, Raisin Bran Cereal, Pepper Jack Cheese Squares, Shampoo (bc it was on sale), Pimple Medicine (because I need it), and I think that's it! Why did I go to Target? Oh... no reason. I just wanted to walk around and see what there was to buy. After that, I walked to my car, dropped off my purchases and made me way across the bushes to the man with the fruit. As soon as I got home, you better believe I plopped in my desk chair and opened my plastic bag of fruit and ate away. It was tasty. My sister asked me how I knew if it was safe to eat or not... mmm, because it tasted good and for some reason, Mexicans always have the best fruit. It's amazing... and I am not sick yet... so I will believe that the man did not try to poison me.

Now I am sitting in sweatpants and being lazy the rest of the day waiting for Chris to get off work.

Tea & Shopping!

Two posts in one week? AMAZING! I even thought about writing yesterday but all I did was work so that wouldn't make for an interesting post. What IS interesting is what I ended up purchasing yesterday though... I know I know... I shouldn't be buying anything in this economic slump... but here we go anyway!

First up is this new perfume that I got. I've been trying to find a new one since the one that I originally use is almost gone, so I found this! It came with a free mirror that you can use as a tray to put all your perfumes or hanging on your wall. I am currently using it as a tray on my desk shelf. The second thing I purchased is this Botkier handbag. I found it on sale in the Handbag department a few days ago and have been stashing it in my office ever since. Also, I could not stop looking and thinking about it. Good thing I bought it too because I have another Botkier bag I bought in November that is tearing at the handle seams and the repair guy at work said it will cost $75... forget THAT. My store manager said I could return it, so then... the bag I bought won't be so expensive since it'll be replacing the other one. Which I really loved... such a shame. This one is HUGE and super soft though. Chris thinks it's made out of calf.... poor baby cows.

So it is NPG week... which means that all Nordstrom brand products at 40% off. I found these cute shoes for only about $50 with my discount. I hardly have ANY brown shoes for going out and since I hardly ever go out, it's not bad to spend $50 right? Well, I didn't really need them but they're so cute with jeans! :-)
So that's what happened yesterday. Oh, I also knocked out at 9:30pm even though I was supposed to wake up at 11pm to play with all my new stuff, that didn't happen. I slept til 1am and then brushed my teeth, read a magazine and then fell back asleep until 9:45am. Woke up early today to go to Chado to get Afternoon Tea with Kat & Crystal. Had Vanilla Coconut tea with Smoked Salmon, Cucumber, & Chicken with Cranberry sandwiches and a scone of course!

After tea we went walking through Old Town. Had to go to Urban to return some stuff I had purchased online so we did that first and then went to Forever 21. Everyone found some cool stuff there but me. :-( I did find this French Press at Crate & Barrel. Granted, Chris bought me a nice one for Christmas but even though it's a "3-cup," it's only 12 ounces so after I had realized how much I like French Press Coffee, I decided to get a "4-Cup," 17 ounce one. Wow, that really isn't that much bigger is it? Well, I just want one that will make me a full cup I guess. The next size up is twice the size and I don't really need one that big since it's just me drinking it and by the time I finish my first cup, the second cup will be cold.

After shopping in Old Town, Kat and I went to Target in Pasadena. I purchased cat food for Winky, Swiffer Dusters Refills, contact solution, eye drops, Arrowhead water, Fiber One Chewy Bar *Oats & Caramel* (soooo tasty by the way), dishwashing soap, and starch for Chris. After that shopping was done, I came home and unpacked EVERYTHING I bought today and yesterday and started to organize it all in my room. Watched "No Reservations" with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Aaron Eckhart which was actually pretty good. Then took a nap.

When Chris finally got off work after 8pm, he drove out and we went to Gyu-Kaku for dinner and then walked to Cheesecake Factory so that I could buy a slice of White Chocolate Raspberry Truffle Cheesecake... yum!!! Now I am currently devouring that while sipping on a cup of tea.

Off again tomorrow... hooray! :-)

Clean Thursday

I have not written in this thing in so long and I totally miss chronicling my life through this. I have gone on so many trips that I wish I had written in here to remember what I did. Oh well... maybe I will try to start writing in this more often.

Today was a lazy day. I woke up at 11:30am and then decided to lay in my sister's bed with Winky. That lasted until 2pm when I finally got myself out of bed. I made some coffee with my french press and ate a bowl of Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds... yum. While all this was going on, I basically just sat online, surfed the web, chatted on AIM, oh! and cleaned my room. I'm trying to simplify my desk and my room so that I do not have so much clutter! I wish my room was bigger and I keep thinking that one day when I move out and have my own place, I'll have a bigger closet so all my clothes can fit and my living space will be bigger... so that means I should not throw anything away since one day I might need it. Horrible thinking right? *sigh*

So anyway, I vacuumed and dusted my room. My room is now free of all dust and anything in the corners of my room. hooray!

After all that, I finally took a shower and got ready to go out to buy Winky cat food and dinner. Went to Ralph's down the street to buy cat litter, cat food, and something to drink. Stumbled upon Vernon's which i LOVE... and Limeade (which doesn't taste too good). Then went to Teri&Yaki to pick up dinner for my family and me.

That's all I did today. I have to open tomorrow so I have to sleep by 11pm. So far, I think I'm just going to watch some How I Met Your Mother DVD's and then eventually go to bed. Good night!

new sleepy dress

Today I received a package from Anthropologie. I happily and excitedly opened it to find my new sleeping dress that I purchased on sale. I'm not sure if I am to sleep in this or lounge in it since on the website it says "loungewear." Anyway, I was not able to copy and paste the picture so I will put the link to it instead. It's super soft and comfy....

Lounge-y Dress

I worked today from 8-7. I was determined to get a lot of work done today and I feel that I accomplished most of that. I woke up this morning at 5:45am, due to my "human alarm clock" aka Chris Jackson, and couldn't decide whether I wanted to go into work on time, or be lazy and go into work at 11am. I started to feel guilty, so I got my butt up and got ready for work. Did my usual morning routine of going to Peet's Coffee and getting a drink before hitting traffic.

Got to work and just started taking care of things and making sure that everything was ready for opening. I felt that I got a lot done, especially since I stayed at work until 7pm and I was supposed to have been off at 5pm.

I treated myself to Cinnastix with frosting and a Coke before going home, which I'm sure was not a good idea. Headed home, ate leftovers and watched last Sunday's episode of Desperate Housewives. Not too exciting of a night. I have tomorrow off... yay! Going to Disneyland with Chris to see how they have decked everything out in a Halloween theme... should be fun I hope.

Going to borrow my sister's camera but hopefully she finds the note that I left her and leaves it behind for me or else.. it will be a boring post. :-(

I miss Xanga

The other night I was looking through my old xanga and it was amazing how I would write what I did in it almost every single day. It was like my own mini-journal and I really do miss that. It was amazing how happy I used to be when I was getting back into Nordstrom and out of that job in Pasadena. I even had a dream last night about how I quit Nordstrom and went back to the Pasadena job except now it was in this super nice building and it was all remodeled and everything. So strange. I don't think any of the people that I used to work with even work there anymore. I think all of them quit, including my manager at the time. Strange. I miss writing in xanga and how I was able to post pictures and make it all pretty. However, I have not logged into xanga in so long and when I finally did, I noticed that they changed their layout and I am way too confused to ever revive that thing, but it was interesting in reading what I wrote in it many years ago.

Anyway, today I had the day off. I haven't had a day off since last Monday. Work has been very stressful and I have contemplated many times about quitting or stepping down. I was PMSing like no other last week and now I'm feeling a little better. I don't hate work as much as I did last week so it's okay now. So anyway... on to what I did today...

I woke up at 1pm and decided that I was going to clean today. I started out with cleaning all the cups in my room, washed all the dishes in the kitchen, washed Winky's food and water bowl. Then I decided to wash all these bowls in the cabinet because some of them were dirty. After finally completing that, I took out the trash in my room and then changed Winky's litter box. Then, it was time to do my laundry! I had 3 or 4 loads but after the last load, something started to leak water in the kitchen and my sisters think it's the washing machine, so now I can't finish my last load of whites. *sigh* Oh well.

After that I watched an Entourage DVD and started to watch I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, but to tell you the truth, I really can't get past the first 30 minutes. I fell asleep, woke up and went to Best Buy, President Thai, and Target with Chris. Bought Winky the cutest Pumpkin tshirt EVER. However, I do have to say that she only had it on for about an hour and I had to take it off because she had the most pissed off look on her face... but then again, when does she not right? So here are the pictures of Winky!!!

Now I'm just trying to get myself into sleeping mode. I have to be awake early tomorrow, and it's strange that I actually enjoy getting my coffee at Peet's in the morning and then listening to Ryan Seacrest and Ellen K in the morning, not because it's them but because it is pretty entertaining when can actually listen to someone talk rather than just music while sitting in traffic. I have lots of stuff to do in the morning too and I enjoy having an hour and a half without anyone being in my department but me. It's nice....

Maybe I will start posting in here like I used to in college with my xanga. It's always nice to read back and read what I was thinking at the time.
