crappy day

so today has turned out to be a not so good day. first it started off with me waking up at my usual 5:15am to get ready for work. i get ready, straighten my hair (which i hardly ever do), put my clothes on, eat my breakfast, and then head off to work. i get there and i'm totally prepared to work, and then i look at the schedule... i freaking CLOSE. so i call my regional mgr. who tells me to call the other assistant and ask him if he could close. turns out he has ... YOGA. yeah... seriously. so i have to drive back home (which wasn't too bad) and then drive back at 2pm. so, i mean... that part really wasn't that bad. i got a good 3-4 hour nap in between and got to eat lunch and get coffee... not rushed at all, which is what i like.

so i'm thinking that today isn't going to be that bad of a day afterall. yeah, i had to wake up earlier than usual, but whatever.... i got to treat myself to peet's coffee and stuff so no big deal.

then i get to work... from 5 until closing it was nonstop cleaning. every time i'd clean something, a huge mess would end up somewhere else. then there were the racks that was a never ending cycle of picking up shoes. i finally just gave up and figured i'd have someone do it at the end of the night. it was a very stressful night tonight. i found myself straightening one of the racks and thinking to myself that i kind of wanted to cry a little. BUT... i will not allow myself to cry over work. that's nonsense. it doesn't deserve my tears, and even though i'm pmsing right now so i'm technically allowed to be a big baby and cry... i don't want to.

i was pretty good today at not yelling at anyone and just being really... mmm... authoritative i guess you can say. someone would just be stupid as heck and i'd just talk to them like i was their mom or something instead of saying what i really wanted to say which was "you dumbshit! what is wrong with you!" instead i said in a monotoned voice what i wanted them to do and just let it go from there and just watched them until they did it correctly. it's really crazy. i swear some of these people hate me, but it sucks to be them because i'm in charge now. hahaha.. me power tripping? never. i am to the point though where if someone pisses me off i write them up. so i guess you can say that i'm a pro at that now since i've already given 2 since my mgr left on saturday.

i have to be up at 5:15am again tomorrow and i have tons of stuff to do in the morning. i just hope i can finish it all and keep the department up and running. i know i can do it... and i refuse to disappoint anyone or let anyone down, but at the same time... it's all very stressful. *sigh*

oh well... time to watch some "elf" to make myself happy i suppose. good night.

I <3 Shopping

So this weekend has been pretty eventful. That's always good for an update!

Friday: Woke up at 10am to get ready to go to the Costa Mesa Rack with Christy. She got to my house around 11ish and then we headed to Coffee Bean to get some energy to shop! After it was off to Costa Mesa! We got lost a little bit, but it's okay... at least we had my cell phone which has googlemaps on it. So we finally made it there and then went straight to the Rack! We spent approximately 2 hours in that store, had 2 trips to the dressing rooms, and had a lot of fun! I got a really cute Marc Jacobs blouse, 2 really soft hooded sweaters, a pair of red shorts, some underwear, and a pair of running shoes for my mom. Christy got 2 really nice summer dresses and some underwear as well. Then after that we went to Boudin and got pasta salad and a pepperoni pizza to share. That was quite tasty. We stopped by PacSun where I got 4 tank tops since they were 2 for $20. Then we went to Best Buy to look at their DVD's and Apple computers. Headed home using my googlemaps which was actually pretty good since it has us avoid the 405 during rush hour traffic. Surprisingly we made it to Whittier in about 45 minutes with hardly any traffic at all! Met up with Christy's family and friends at this Italian Restaurant in Whittier where we had some really good halibut. Christy and I then went to Pinkberry in Old Town Pasadena and ate it while we shopped at H&M and Urban Outfitters. I, unfortunately, did not buy anything during this little trip but Christy got a really nice jacket!! It was totally worth it for her to get it even though it's freaking hot outside... ahhahaha

Saturday: Had to open this morning, so I worked from 8-5. Had a goodbye lunch for my manager at Islands, which was really good. I got a burger and fries. After work I headed over to Chris' house to say hello and get some ice cream. We did that and then lounged around his house until it was time to head out to Arcadia to have dinner with Christy! We picked up Christy and then went to Kabuki where we got our usual rolls and just sat and chit chatted. Of COURSE, we can never have a weekend where all three of us are together where we do NOT go to 24 hour Wal-Mart in Glendora. hahahaa... so that's where we went after dinner. We walked around the whole place and spent an hour in there... hahahaha. Christy got some necessities for her trip to Europe and I just got random junk that I needed. After that we headed home where I watched my Ugly Betty DVD that I purchased at WalMart until I knocked out around 4am...

Today: Woke up at 2:30pm... YES 2:30pm... that's simply ridiculous. I'm never going to wake up tomorrow morning to open the store. But anyway... so I finally got out of bed at 3pm, then I ate some food that my mom brought me... sat around and then fell BACK asleep at 3:30pm until 5:30pm. Woke up, got ready to go to Christy's house. Stopped by Baskin Robbins to get an ice cream cake for the BBQ and then off to Christy's house! Ate some yummy BBQ and then just lounged in her nicely air conditioned house for the rest of the night. Watched parts of Beer Fest and Narnia.... read some magazines... played with our DS Lites and our NintenDogs... and then headed home where I am now. I should be getting ready for bed soon. Hopefully I'll be able to get out of work early tomorrow so that I can get a pedicure with Christy before she heads off to Europe!

Aching Feet....

I'm getting better at updating!! woo~hoo!

So work is making me stressful... or maybe it's just pms. Either way, I get stressed for a couple of minutes every day when I go into work. It's just very frustrating to see everything all out of order and to know that there are people there who simply do not care at all about anything but themselves. But I guess that's just what happens....

My feet are starting to really hurt by the way. I'm trying really hard to find some nice comfortable shoes to wear to work. But it's super hard to find comfortable ones.

Can't wait to go to the Rack with Christy on Friday! Hopefully I'll find some good deals and maybe some more shoes? hahahahaa... I know I know Chris... I don't need everything, just something, and you know that I will find something, especially since I will be with Christy who is the queen of shopping and finding great deals at places like the Rack. So I'm looking forward to that this weekend. I also get Sunday off! It's awesome. I get to make the managers schedule since my manager will be gone, plus she was just way too damn lazy to do it herself, so I just wrote it and then we're pretending that she did it... ahahaha.. it's awesome. :-)

I haven't done anything since Monday. I've already run out of turkey meat and pickles for my sandwiches. Well, I guess I could've made it last until Thursday but I got hungry tonight and made a sandwich. but THEN the leftovers of turkey was just one slice, so I decided to just pile it onto my sandwich and then there were only like.. 2 pickle stackers left, so I figured I should just pile those on my sandwich too right? Oh no... after half that sandwich I was full. So now I have half a sandwich for lunch tomorrow.

My life isn't exciting at all.... I just wanted to update because I'm a little stressed and I want it to be Friday already so I can have the day off!!!

Today gets to be a "lazy Sunday" as Christy would call it.

This weekend I haven't really done much. On Friday I had to close and then on Saturday I had to be at work at 7am, so that didn't leave much of a Friday night. But since I was so wide awake after I got off of work, I stayed up until about 1am and then woke up at 5:30am... which was really hard.
Saturday I went to work in the morning. I stopped by the Arco next to my house and got a Full Throttle energy drink to keep myself entertained during the manager meeting we were having. It was quite boring. Then we had to get the department ready for opening. I actually did some selling, which I hardly ever do. It's just way too much work to sell something in my department. I don't really feel like running 2 flights of stairs just to get a $40 shoe. So I just walked around and floor watched a bit. Then I had thai food with Megan from Salon Shoes. I don't think I like that place we go to anymore. Every time I go there I feel like the waitress is watching what I eat and what I don't eat because before... I used to order the chicken pad thai but I would never eat the chicken, or the rice, or the vegetable eggroll that came with the special... all I would eat was the noodles. So then the lady would bring it up and would say that I could get vegetarian or ask for no eggroll... stupid shit like that. So now I get vegetable pad thai, no egg. It's not THAT bad, but I'd rather just have my usual chicken pad thai. I just want that chicken flavor in there, what's so wrong with that? hahahaa... I just don't like it when my chicken looks kind of weird, then I don't eat it! Anyway... then work ended and I fell asleep at home until 10pm. I woke up and went online. I read Christy's blog and it inspired me to clean my room. I organized my closet with one side being work clothes and the other side being casual clothes. I used to have it color coordinated but then when everything black is in one section, I can't really tell what is what.... so we'll see how this goes. Then I just sat around and talked online and talked to Chris. I fell asleep at 4am while watching The Holiday DVD... really bad acting by the way, but it's still kind of cute.

Today I woke up at 1:30pm then lounged around the house until my mom and sisters came home from lunch with some leftovers for me! Then I lounged some more until it was time for me to shower because Chris was going to come pick me up so that we could get coffee and run some errands together. First we went to Peet's Coffee where I got my usual iced vanilla latte and he got his triple espresso. Then we went to Target. He got a notepad for school and candy... while I got some candy and cereal (Honey Bunches of Oats with Almonds). Then we went to Trader Joe's so that I could buy some sandwich stuff for my lunches this week. I got turkey, pepper jack cheese, yogurt, raspberries, blueberries, mintz, Arizona green tea in the individual boxes and this strawberry licorice that I saw on Mindy Ephron's blog. After that, we went to Handel's, this ice cream place... where I got Black Cherry Ice Cream in a waffle cone and Chris got cookies and cream (Christy, we should go here when you come home! It's homemade ice cream! Super tasty). Then we just lounged at Chris' house for a very long time, got dinner at this burger place called Legends, watched a new episode of the Girls Next Door then Chris took me home. Stopped by Ralphs though, so I could get lettuce, pickles and mustard for my sandwich..... that's it!

I should probably be sleeping soon because it's almost midnight and I have to be up by 5am but I don't want to! hahahaha

stressed and pmsing ... what a combo!

So as you can tell by my title up there, I am horribly stressed from work and pmsing at the same time. Which really is not any good for ANYONE who decides to either rub me the wrong way or anyone who is just plain stupid.... and trust me, there are a lot of them who I come in contact with at all times! But other than that.. .I'm doing okay!

This weekend, all I did was work. Actually, since I've been back from my mini vacation (which was last Thursday) I've been pretty much working opening shifts non-stop and I really don't like opening because I can't sleep. No sleep Susie = really cranky. So yes... let me re-cap what I've done these past couple of days...

Thursday: Was scheduled to work 8-5, but I worked 7-5 instead. Drove home and ate at Chipotle and Pinkberry with Chris at night. Then knocked out.

Friday: Scheduled again 8-5 but this day I worked 7-6. Drove home and fell asleep at 9:30pm.

Saturday: Worked 7:30-6. Took a super mini nap at home and then went to Pinkberry and Alfredo's with Chris. Then we stopped by Sav-On(or whatever it's called... I forgot ... oh! CVS!!!) to get some essentials. Then I ended my night to get ready for work the next day.

Sunday: Worked 7am-2pm laying out fixture id's for inventory. Pain in the butt I tell you. We've already gone through 2000 stickers and there's still more we have to put out! It's crazy how big the stockroom is and how many bins there are. Basically, every single shelf that we have shoes on, we have to put this sticker on it... and trust me, there are thousands upon thousands of shoes...!!

So yesterday I was pretty cranky in the morning because some people are just really really stupid. Well, I was fine in the morning but after seeing some of the people I work with.. I got really annoyed. They're just retarded. There's no other way for me to explain it. And THEN my manager expects me to do everything because she knows that I know... and basically, I'm the only person in that whole department who actually knows what I'm doing... it's ridiculous. So hopefully after today, which is inventory day, and after August 30, which is the first day of the Fall Sale... everything will be okay. I'm in charge of that sale too... lucky me huh? It's great....

Ok, enough complaining. I'm going to go eat lunch with Chris now before I have to go to work. Have a good day everyone! :-)

i looove being on vacation!

Wow, so I guess I didn't do a good job on updating this thing did I? Well... let's see what I have been up to...

I've been on a mini vacation since last Thursday. I started working on the new floor last Monday and it's been going alright, it's not that bad. It's nice to be working with my old manager, but at the same time it kind of sucks because I can't call out when I'm too lazy to go to work... or be lazy for that matter because I think that she expects me to do all this stuff... when in reality, I'm just lazy!!! But yes, I was only there for 3 days so I can't really say if I like it or not. I get to go back on Thursday so we'll see how everything goes from there.

Onto my vacation! Went to Grover/Pismo Beach over the weekend with Chris and Christy. Christy already wrote a pretty good blog on what we did, and I'd like to just copy and paste it all, but then that would be stealing wouldn't it? hahahaa... so I will write a little on what we did.

Thursday: Sat around the house all day. Ran some errands, packed, and waited for Chris to get off work so that he could pick me up. Headed out to Christy's condo. I, of course, fell asleep on the way there. Got to the area and picked up some dinner at good ol' McDonald's. Met Christy at the condo and we ate, watched tv, and chatted until it was time for bed.

Friday: Woke up and got ready to eat at Splash Cafe! Christy and I got the Clam Chowder Bread Bowl, which is THE best in the WORLD! Not because of the chowder but more because they toast the extra middle piece of the bread bowl and give it to you. It's so tasty to dip in the soup! yum! Chris was a party pooper and got a cheeseburger and chili cheese fries. After that we walked around a bit and got some salt water taffy. Then we headed out to Coffee Bean to get some energy to go to the Pismo Outlets!! woo~hoo! Us girls shopped for about 2 hours while Chris just played solitaire on his phone and waited for us outside of the stores. Poor Chris.... me and Christy found stuff to buy, which is always a good thing! I got some Nine West peep toe black heels for $29.90 for work and 2 tank tops from Calvin Klein for $20.00. Christy got some really cute Converse Slip Ons with a satin strip on the tongue part, a tank top from PacSun and 2 tank tops from Calvin Klein. It was a good cheap shopping adventure. Everything we got was a good deal! so yay! After all the shopping we went to Vons to buy dinner ingredients for the next day and then went back to the condo and rested. Then we went to Jocko's in Nipomo. They had THE BEST steak EVER. It's this random steakhouse in the middle of nowhere, where the dining area looks like some where you would've eaten as a kid in the early 80's. The chairs and table are dark brown and the chairs are like the ones you used to sit in when you went to like a diner or something. It's really weird but the food is oh so good! AND you get ice cream and coffee at the end of the meal. It's really fantastic. Everyone should drive up there and eat it. You don't even need steak sauce for the meat.. it's THAT flavorful and good. yum! I believe we tried to find a video at Blockbuster, which we didn't succeed in doing, and then just went back to the condo and hung out.

Saturday: We woke up semi-early and headed out to Solvang!!! BUT before we did that, we saw Giada's Weekend Getaways on the Food Network and saw that she had gone to this mini horse farm near Santa Barbara. We looked it up online and found out that it was located in SOLVANG! woo~hoo!!! So we made a little pit stop there. The horses are sooooooooooo cute and soooooooo small!!! Christy wants to buy one and when she does, I'll invite everyone to her little farm and charge you a dollar to see the mini horse. hahahahaha.... anyway, we did that and then we went to the area in Solvang where it's all touristy and stuff. It was nice. We walked around and then rented a surrey! It was soooo tiring! I was sweating like no other! But that was pretty exciting. Then we ate at this cafe with outdoor seating and got sandwiches with country potatoes. Quite tasty. Then we drove home... lounged and then cooked dinner! I was in charge of the vegetables and Christy was in charge of bbqing the meat! All of it was yummy! Chris didn't have to do much but sit there and watch tv while us girls slaved away... hahaha.. jk. We didn't really... but still. After Christy and I went to Vons again because we wanted ice cream so we made sundaes! YUM! Then it was back to watching tv and resting. We're such bums! hahahaha

Sunday: Cleaned the condo a bit, then went to Pismo Beach to actually walk on the beach. Ate lunch at Mo's BBQ and had the best BBQ Pork Sandwich EVER! Christy got some garlic fries too which were pretty darn tasty. Got a carmel apple and sat on the beach just ppl watching and starting at ALL THE DOGS that were there. I swear, every single person in that area just HAS to have a dog.. it's ridiculous. Anyway... after that we dropped Chris off at the condo and then went on a search for a nail salon. Only ONE place out of the whole entire city was open on a Sunday... CRAZY! So we waited and drove around and then went back to get our nails done. It was very nice to sit in the spa chair and just relax. By the time that was done, it was almost 5pm so when we got back to the condo we cleaned some more, said our goodbyes and headed home!

Chris and I drove home... where I fell asleep again and stopped by at a McDonald's so I could use the restroom and get an ice cream cone. Then we went to The Pantry in Downtown LA and got some breakfast foods. Finally got home and crashed.

Monday: Went to Newport Beach with Chris to tan, Boudin's & Nordstrom Rack in Costa Mesa, miniature golfing at a place in Anaheim, Sonic's for a strawberry and watermelon slush, In-n-Out for dinner and then Chris' house to watch my tivo'd shows.

Today: got a facial/wax at Valerie's. Then I just bummed it the rest of the day until Chris got off work. He picked me up and we went to Pink's. The line was crazy long so I went and got Pinkberry to eat while I was waiting. Finally got to the front of the line and got our dogs and fries. Ate them and then headed out to 24 hour WalMart in Glendora to get a beach chair for tomorrow since we will be going to the beach again! woo~hoo!

mini golf!

I've been inspired to write in my blog thanks to Christy updating her blog, not once but three times for me... woo~hoo! (Thanks Christy! Your blogs keep me thoroughly entertained!!!)

Today I had a nice day off. Went to the optometrist (which I've been going to quite lately and it's starting to get super annoying!!!). I initially went because the one that I usually go to, well they didn't have time to see me on the day that I wanted to go... so I found this other place that is supposidly the "best in Pasadena." So I went and it turns out to be this like... huuuuuge optometry place with tons of people working.. almost like a huge clinic or kaiser or something. I mean, it's cool, but not at the same time. You don't get that personalized attention that you get when you go to a little asian optometrist located in Arcadia... I miss it... but oh well. I've already used my insurance money so I'm determined to figure out why my eyes hurts and why I get headaches... so each time I go in to get my contact follow-up, I tell them something is wrong and they are trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with my eyes... hopefully next week will be my LAST appointment...

Then I decided to finally check out the new 24 Hour Fitness down the street from my house. It's really very nice but that's only because it's brand spanking new! I haven't gone to the gym in months.. so I decided to take it slow and was only on the treadmill for 25 minutes... but trust me.. it was really hard not to stop at like 10 minutes.

After that I came home, showered, and got ready to head over to Chris' house. I made a pit stop at Ten Ren to get a passion fruit green tea boba and then off to Claremont I went. Stopped by Arco to get some tortilla chips to eat with some salsa I left at Chris' and then lounged at his house until he came home from work. We ate at Tony Roma's and then went MINIATURE GOLFING!!! Duuuuude, I haven't gone mini golfing since my 18th birthday!!! (Remember that Christy?!?! Oh man.... that was sooooo long ago!) But anyway... I did really well in the beginning and I even got a HOLE IN ONE!!! It happened after I had already went, but since I did not know that I was supposed to WANT my ball to go into this little concave thing-y, I decided to try again and see if I could get my ball into that area.. and what do u know, I get a hole in one... so Chris counted that as me going only once. muahahaha... now, I think I won, but it could've been a tie... or maybe Chris won. mmmm... I should make him count and see who won. But I have to say that it was actually quite fun!

I saw The Simpsons movie on Monday too! It wasn't too bad... I think it was okay, but I guess it was like watching a really long episode of the show (which I haven't actually sat down and watched in probably almost 10 years). If you're a diehard Simpsons fan, then I guess I would suggest that you go watch it.

I did make a purchase last week!!! I got this Cole Haan Handbag that I've wanted since it first came out earlier this year... well, I wanted the large one, but I found the medium one on sale at my store so I just HAD to buy it.. plus I had a $40 Nordstrom merch certificate!!!



I just looked at ColeHaan.com and they have it at regular price still AND they're taking it into the fall season!!! woo~hoo! That means that the bag I purchased will not be going out of style! niiiice! :-) I believe that is all that I have purchased lately... just waiting for my next paycheck on the 5th.

OH! I did get a promotion earlier this week. I will be working in Women's/BP Shoes instead of Salon Shoes. The floor is double the volume of what I was on before... and it's a better opportunity for me to experience having so many salespeople (35 to be exact, instead of my usual 12 or 13). I'll be working with my old manager.... so hopefully, it won't be too bad. I'm a little scared I'll be burned out, but we shall see. I don't start until next Monday.... so if you call me at work *ahem*Christy.... make sure you call 1300! hehehee...
