Las Vegas - Time for Relaxing and SHOPPING!

So I haven't updated this in a long time but I thought that my Vegas trip was interesting enough to post about. Someday I may want to read back on this and remember what I did because I'm pretty sure I'll forget. So here goes!

Thursday: Woke up at 10am (was supposed to be picked up at 10am but Chris and I were pretty tired), got ready and waited for Chris to pick me up. He picked me up at 11am and we headed to WaMu for me to get some cash and then Coffee Bean to fuel ourselves for the trip to Vegas. Stopped in Barstow on the way to eat at Lola's, which is a really tasty Mexican Food Restaurant. Chris got chicken tacos and I got the beef tacos with rice and beans. It was just as yummy as I remember. We got lost getting to the restaurant but we did get to see the downtown part of Barstow where it's just this one part of the street with all these shops on it. After we ate, we went to Vons and stocked up on water, sparkling water, Skyy Vodka for Chris, a toothbrush and InStyle magazine for me. Then it was on our way!!!

We got to Vegas and checked into Treasure Island. Dropped off our stuff and then headed to the Fashion Show mall across the street to look around. Found these yoga pants I've been looking for ... lululemon athletica.... they didn't have my size in pants so I bought this jacket instead. I never exercise but it'll be a nice jacket just to throw on whenever I feel like it. :-) I got this one but in black.

After that we went to Nordstrom and looked around. Then back to the hotel. We walked over to Bellagio to eat at their buffet. I had thought that we had never tried it but then when we got there, we realized that we tried it the last time we went with Christy.. duh! But we had walked all the way over there and decided to just have it again. I loaded up on the sushi. :-) It was my favorite. Had our buffet and then walked around the strip. Went back to our hotel where I gambled away some money and then went back to the room and knocked out.

Friday: Was too lazy to go to the pool so I slept until 11am. Got ready and then we walked downstairs to eat at the Coffee Shop in Treasure Island. Had eggs benedict which were pretty decent and Chris got the waffles. I had decided that I wanted some instant tan stuff to put on my pale legs for the show at night so we walked over to Sephora at the Venetian where I got dopped into buying a Smashbox lotion that makes you tan and some pimple medicine (since I was getting 3 zits on my face). After that we walked straight back to the hotel so that Chris could watch his soccer match but believe me... I could've stayed in Sephora for a very long time. hahahaa... we went to Kahunaville in Treasure Island and got some Strawberry Coladas where Chris also watched the remainder of his game... I gambled and lost money.

After laying around for a couple of minutes in our room we decided to go shopping since I wanted a cute outfit to wear to dinner & the show and Chris was on the hunt for some cheap orange sunglasses. We walked to Planet Hollywood to the shops for me to look at. Walked around and then I went into Max Studio and found a pretty dress and some shoes too! The saleslady said that if I got the shoes and the dress, she would give me $20 off the shoes. So I got both. I found a picture of the shoes but not the dress....Then we walked around some more and I bought a cheapy bracelet that I thought was cute.

We didn't find anything for Chris at Planet Hollywood so then we decided to go to Caesars Palace to try our luck. Oh... we only found another pair of shoes for me.. hahahaa. I got a pair of Michael Kors shoes in gold. I could only find this picture of them but it's all gold....

We did see Dog the Bounty Hunger. He looks EXACTLY the same. It was pretty cool to see him just walking through the Forum Shoppes.

After walking and buying way too much... we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner at Social House at Treasure Island. You will have to look at my pictures from my Picasa album that I will put a link to at the bottom but the food was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD! The sashimi appetizers that they had were the BEST. Even Chris said it was super tasty and he hardly ever eats raw fish at all. Chris also had a blueberry sake that tasted like juice. I ordered a Lychee something which was just like little donut balls with lychee custard or something inside and a scoop of raspberry sorbet. So tasty. We got to sit outside on the balcony right next to the Pirates show. HOWEVER, it was cancelled due to technical difficulty. Lame huh? Oh well. We ate our food and then went back to the room to relax a bit. At 9pm we got dressed and headed out to Mirage to see LOVE by Cirque du Soliel. It was a pretty good show I suppose. The music was fantastic (I bought the CD afterwards the next day), but there weren't as many acrobatic stunts like "O." Oh well... not bad.

So after the show we walked around and went to Kahunaville for some more strawberry koladas and other alcoholic beverages for Chris. There were crazy drunk old people there so after awhile we left to walk around the strip. The weather at night was perfect. Not too hot and not too cold. I was able to wear my dress and flipflops and be incredibly comfortable. We window shopped at all the expensive shops in Venetian and the Palazzo and just walked around taking pictures. By then it was 3am and so it was back to the hotel room where we bought beef jerky and cheetos from the vending machine before knocking out to sleep.

Saturday: Again I was too lazy to go to the beach so I slept in until 11am and then rushed to get ready for checkout at 12pm. We put all our luggage into the car and then took the tram to the Mirage to eat at Carnegie Deli. Since there was a line we decided to go to the LOVE store and get the soundtrack for it. We did that and then headed back to the restaurant to eat. I got the pastrami sandwich which was HUGE for being just a plain ol' sandwich but it was pretty tasty. We got homemade pickles (yum!), fries, my pastrami sandwich (with a jar of spicy mustard.. yum!), and Chris got a grilled chicken sandwich. Pretty tasty place. After that we went back to the car and drove down the strip to see if there was anywhere I'd want to stop... but I didn't see anything spectacular plus I was tired.

We drove home and stopped by Primm (?) for gas and Starbucks. It literally took 3 baristas to make my Starbucks Doubleshot over Ice Drink. All it consists of is - 5 Espresso Shots, Ice, Simple Syrup, and Milk on Top... and it took them FOREVER to figure it out. Stupids. Then it was back on the road.

It was a fun trip. I got to have BBQ Steak, Ribs, Baked Potato, Homemade Garlic Bread and Homemade Strawberry Shortcake with fresh strawberries at Chris' house. Yum. I wish I could have some more!

Tomorrow it is Huntington Beach with Christy... woo~hoo! I FINALLY get to tan! :-)
